Kingsport Office Of Cultural Arts

The mission of the City of Kingsport is to provide economic, educational and quality of life opportunities that create a safe, vibrant and diverse community. The Office of Cultural Arts, a department of the City of Kingsport connects, coordinates and engages the public with a creative community.

The Kingsport Office of Cultural Arts:

Operates EngageKingsport.com website which includes a comprehensive regional event calendar and has secure online box office capabilities.
Manages Cultural Spaces including room/event reservations at the Renaissance Center,Farmers Market and Carousel facilities.
Provides administrative support to Kingsport Public Art programs.
Stimulates Community Engagement and Economic Development Through the Arts
- Manages an annual performing arts series.
- Presents festivals such as The Christmas Connection and The Carousel Fine Craft Show.

Kingsport Public Art Committee

The Kingsport Public Art Committee was created by ordinance of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen in 2007. The ordinance also established a ‘Percent for Art’ allowing .75% of the Capital Improvement Project to be designated for art. Members of the Kingsport Public Art Committee are appointed by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.

Engage Kingsport

Engage Kingsport, the “Friends of the Cultural Arts” group, connects, coordinates and engages the public with a creative community. The Kingsport Office of Cultural Arts and Engage Kingsport are dedicated to cultivating cultural assets and promoting them as vehicles for economic and community development within our region.
